The Alabama Philosophical Society was founded in 1963.

The APS officers for the academic year 2010-2011 are as follows:
Adam Podlaskowski (Fairmont State University), President
Allan Hillman (University of South Alabama), Vice-President
Matthew Carey Jordan (Auburn University at Montgomery), Secretary-Treasurer
Roderick T. Long (Auburn University), Webmaster and Archivist
Annual dues are $45, payable at conference registration.
(Dues waived for professors emeriti.)
